Bali Visa on Arrival 2026 — Cost, Requirements & How to Apply
The Bali Visa on Arrival (VOA) is an Indonesian tourist visa costing IDR 500,000 (~USD 35) per person, valid 30 days and extendable once for another 30 days. In 2026 it is available at Ngurah Rai Airport and can be applied in advance online as an eVOA (evisa.imigrasi.go.id).

What Is the Bali Visa on Arrival?
The Visa on Arrival is Indonesia’s most popular short-stay tourist visa, designed for holidaymakers who want a fast, low-cost entry without applying through an embassy. As the name suggests, you can obtain it on arrival at the airport — but in 2026 the smarter route is to apply for the same visa online beforehand as an eVOA, so you skip the airport counter entirely.
The VOA is a single-entry visa: it admits you to Indonesia once, for an initial 30 days, counted from your date of arrival (the day you land counts as day one). It can be extended once, in-country, for a further 30 days — giving a maximum stay of 60 days. It cannot be extended a second time, and it does not permit any form of work or paid activity in Indonesia.
The official government fee is IDR 500,000 per person — the same whether you buy it at the airport or apply online as an eVOA. That figure is set by the Directorate General of Immigration (Ditjen Imigrasi) and is current for 2026. As a licensed agency, Juara Holding Group can prepare your VOA or eVOA, check every detail before submission, and handle your 30-day extension so you never risk an overstay.
Skip the airport queue: apply your eVOA online before flying — same IDR 500,000 fee, processed before you land, up to five travellers in one session.
Who Is the Visa on Arrival For?
The VOA is the right visa if you fit this profile:
- Tourists and holidaymakers staying up to 30 days (or up to 60 with one extension).
- Short business visitors attending a brief meeting or conference — but not doing paid work. For genuine business activity over a longer period, see our Business Visa.
- Travellers from a VOA-eligible country. Around 97 nationalities qualify for the Indonesian VOA/eVOA, including Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, most of the EU, Canada, and many more. Check your passport against our by-nationality guides.
- Visitors who value speed and simplicity over a long stay — the VOA is the cheapest, fastest legal entry to Bali.
The VOA is not suitable if you plan to:
- Stay longer than 60 days — choose the B211A Visit Visa (60 days, multiple extensions) instead.
- Work, freelance, or earn money in Indonesia — that requires a KITAS or a Working KITAS (E23).
- Create monetised social-media content — that needs the C5A Creator Visa.
- Convert to a KITAS without leaving Indonesia — the VOA generally cannot be converted onshore; the B211A can.
Bali Visa on Arrival Requirements 2026
To enter Bali on a VOA in 2026 you need the following. Our team checks every item against the current immigration rules before you travel, so nothing causes a refusal at the counter.
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Passport validity | Valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival |
| Nationality | From a VOA-eligible country (~97 nationalities) |
| Return / onward ticket | Proof of departure from Indonesia |
| Accommodation | Hotel booking or address of stay |
| Proof of funds | Approx. USD 2,000 (or equivalent), supported by ~3 months of bank statements |

Notes on the new 2026 entry rules:
- The All Indonesia Arrival Card (completed at allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id{rel=nofollow target=_blank}) replaced the old e-Customs Declaration and health pass in 2025. Every arrival must complete it within three days before landing.
- The Bali Tourist Levy of IDR 150,000 is a separate charge from the VOA, paid once per visit through the Love Bali app or on arrival.
- Proof of funds is rarely checked for short tourist stays but can be requested — keep a bank statement accessible.

How to Apply for a Bali Visa on Arrival — Step by Step
There are two routes: buy the VOA at the airport, or apply online beforehand as an eVOA. We strongly recommend the eVOA in 2026. Here is the airport VOA process; for the online route, see the dedicated eVOA page.
- Complete the All Indonesia Arrival Card. Within three days before you fly, fill in the AIDC at allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id. Save the confirmation to your phone.
- Pay the Bali Tourist Levy. IDR 150,000 via the Love Bali app before arrival, or at a counter on landing.
- Land at Ngurah Rai (Denpasar) Airport. Follow signs for “Visa on Arrival.” Have your passport, onward ticket and accommodation details ready.
- Pay the VOA fee at the counter. IDR 500,000 by card or cash. You receive a payment receipt and a VOA sticker or stamp.
- Proceed to immigration. Present your passport and VOA receipt at the immigration desk for your entry stamp. Your 30-day clock starts on this date.
To extend before day 30: apply through our team or at a Bali immigration office. Since May 2025, the extension requires an in-person biometric appointment (photo and fingerprints). We book the appointment, prepare the paperwork, and accompany the process — see Visa Extension.
VOA vs eVOA — Which Should You Choose?
The VOA and eVOA are the same visa at the same price (IDR 500,000) — the only difference is where and when you apply.
| VOA (at airport) | eVOA (online) | |
|---|---|---|
| Where you apply | Ngurah Rai Airport counter | evisa.imigrasi.go.id, before flying |
| When | On arrival | 48 hours – 90 days before departure |
| Cost | IDR 500,000 | IDR 500,000 (identical) |
| Validity | 30 days, extend once | 30 days, extend once |
| Airport queue | Yes — pay and queue | No — skip the VOA counter |
| Group applications | Individual at counter | Up to 5 applicants per session |
| Payment | Card / cash | Mastercard, Visa, JCB |
Our recommendation: apply for the eVOA online before you fly. You lock in the visa, avoid the on-arrival queue, and travel with the confidence of an approved e-visa PDF in hand.
Can I Work or Extend on a Bali VOA?
Can I work on a VOA? No. The Visa on Arrival is strictly a tourist visa. Any paid work, freelancing, or running a business on a VOA is illegal in Indonesia and is actively enforced in 2026 through the Dharma Dewata task force and village-level (PIMPASA) immigration officers, who monitor foreigners — including their online activity. Remote workers need the Digital Nomad Visa (E33G); content creators need the C5A Creator Visa. Working illegally risks detention, deportation and a re-entry ban.
Can I extend a VOA? Yes — once, for an additional 30 days, taking your total stay to a maximum of 60 days. The extension must be applied for before your current visa expires and, since May 2025, requires an in-person biometric appointment at a Bali immigration office. If you need to stay longer than 60 days, the VOA is the wrong visa — apply for a B211A Visit Visa (60 days, multiple extensions) instead.
What if I overstay? Overstaying a VOA costs IDR 1,000,000 per day. Beyond 60 days of overstay it becomes a criminal matter — risking detention, deportation and blacklisting. If your visa has expired or is about to, get emergency help now.

How long can I stay in Bali on a VOA?
The VOA is valid for 30 days from arrival and can be extended once for a further 30 days, for a maximum of 60 days. For longer stays, choose the B211A Visit Visa (up to 60 days, multiple extensions) or a KITAS.

Should I get the VOA at the airport or apply for an eVOA online?
We recommend the eVOA. It is the same visa at the same IDR 500,000 price, but you apply online 48 hours to 90 days before departure and skip the airport VOA queue. You can also process up to five applicants in one session.
