Bali Visa for Russia Citizens 2026 — VOA, KITAS & Long-Stay

Russian citizens are eligible for the Bali Visa on Arrival in 2026, costing IDR 500,000 (~RUB 3,200 / USD 35) for 30 days, extendable once to 60. For longer stays — common in Bali’s large Russian community — they choose the Digital Nomad E33G, Multiple-Entry D1, or Second Home Visa E33. All arrivals complete the All Indonesia Arrival Card before travel.

Do Russians Need a Visa for Bali in 2026?

Yes — Russian passport-holders need a visa for Bali, but the standard route is simple, and Bali is home to one of the largest Russian expat communities in Asia, concentrated around Canggu, Berawa and Pererenan. Russian citizens are on the Visa on Arrival (VOA) list. For a normal trip you do not need to apply at the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow. You buy the VOA on arrival at Ngurah Rai Airport, or — far better — apply for the eVOA online beforehand.

The VOA grants 30 days from arrival and can be extended once for a further 30 days — up to 60 days in Bali. For a holiday or a first scouting stay, the VOA or eVOA is enough.

Because so many Russians stay long-term — to live, work remotely, or run businesses in Bali — the longer-stay visas below are especially relevant, and our team handles a high volume of Russian long-stay cases.

How Russians Apply for the eVOA — Step by Step

We recommend Russian travellers apply for the eVOA online before departure:

  1. Use the official portal only — evisa.imigrasi.go.id. This is the only official Indonesian eVOA site; scam copies targeting Russian speakers exist, so verify the address. Apply 90 days to 48 hours before departure.
  2. Register and select “Visa on Arrival (B1)”, choosing Russia as your nationality.
  3. Upload your documents — the bio page of your Russian international (zagranpasport) passport, valid 6+ months beyond arrival with a blank page, plus a passport-style photo.
  4. Pay IDR 500,000 by Visa, Mastercard or JCB. Important for Russian applicants: many Russian-issued bank cards (Visa/Mastercard sanctioned since 2022) cannot complete international payments. You may need a card issued outside Russia, a friend’s or family member’s overseas card, or an agent to pay on your behalf. This is the single biggest obstacle Russians face with the eVOA.
  5. Receive the eVOA PDF by email — print it and keep a phone copy. Up to five applicants per session.
  6. On arrival, use the eVOA lane, complete the All Indonesia Arrival Card, and pay the tourist levy.

Because the card-payment issue affects so many Russians, our team frequently prepares and pays for the eVOA on the client’s behalf and bills transparently. Message us if your card won’t go through.

Best Long-Stay Visa for Russians

Russia has one of Bali’s biggest long-stay populations, dominated by remote workers, entrepreneurs and lifestyle residents in the Canggu area — so the long-stay choice usually comes down to:

  • Working remotely for an overseas employer? The Digital Nomad Visa E33G gives one year if you earn USD 60,000+/year and hold an overseas employment contract. It is not renewable — you exit and re-apply to continue. This is a leading choice in the Russian Canggu community.
  • Coming and going frequently? A Multiple-Entry visa (D1/D2) — valid 1, 2 or 5 years with up to 60 days per entry — suits Russians who split time between Bali and elsewhere.
  • Running a business in Indonesia? Many Russians establish a PT PMA company and hold an Investor KITAS E28A.
  • Settling for years at any age, or buying property? The Second Home Visa E33 requires an IDR 2 billion (~USD 130,000) deposit in a state bank within 90 days, or qualifying property — no employment requirement, no upper age limit.

Many Russians start on a B211A and then convert to a KITAS onshore. We will map the most practical legal path, with figures in USD and RUB.

Russian Passport — What You Need at Ngurah Rai Airport

Arriving in Bali on a Russian international passport, you should have:

  • Passport validity: at least 6 months beyond arrival, with a blank page.
  • Your visa: VOA on arrival or a pre-approved eVOA.
  • All Indonesia Arrival Card (AIDC): free, at allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id within 3 days before arrival.
  • Bali Tourist Levy: IDR 150,000 per person.
  • Onward/return ticket and accommodation booking.
  • Proof of funds: be ready to show around USD 2,000 equivalent and roughly three months of bank statements. Given the card and banking constraints many Russians face, carry funds you can actually demonstrate access to.

The authoritative source is Indonesian immigration at imigrasi.go.id — follow the Indonesian rule over third-party or community advice, which for Russians changes frequently.

Bali Visa Cost for Russians in RUB and USD

The VOA is priced in rupiah at IDR 500,000. Because the rouble is volatile and many Russians pay with non-Russian cards, we show both RUB and USD (approximate):

Item IDR Approx RUB Approx USD
VOA / eVOA (30 days) IDR 500,000 ~RUB 3,200 ~USD 35
VOA extension (+30 days) IDR 500,000 ~RUB 3,200 ~USD 35
Bali Tourist Levy IDR 150,000 ~RUB 960 ~USD 10
B211A visit visa (gov fee) IDR 1,500,000 ~RUB 9,600 ~USD 95
Proof of funds (suggested) ~IDR 32,000,000 ~RUB 184,000 ~USD 2,000
Second Home Visa deposit IDR 2,000,000,000 ~USD 130,000

RUB conversions are approximate and move sharply with the exchange rate; USD is the more stable reference. Rupiah amounts are fixed. Our pricing page shows the full IDR / USD / AUD table including our service fees.

FAQ — Bali Visa for Russians

Q1: My Russian bank card is declined on the eVOA site — what can I do?
This is the most common problem for Russian applicants, because many Russian-issued Visa/Mastercard cards cannot process international payments since 2022. Options: use a card issued outside Russia, ask a friend or relative abroad to pay, or have us submit and pay for your eVOA and settle with us transparently. Message us and we’ll handle it.

Q2: Is Bali visa-free for Russian citizens in 2026?
No. Russians are not on the visa-free list, but they are VOA-eligible: IDR 500,000 (~RUB 3,200 / USD 35) for 30 days, extendable once to 60. There’s no need to visit the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow for a normal holiday.

Q3: How long can Russian citizens stay in Bali?
On the VOA/eVOA, up to 60 days (30 + one 30-day extension). For longer — common in the Russian community — use a B211A, a Multiple-Entry D1, a KITAS, or the Second Home Visa.

Q4: Can Russians work remotely from Bali legally?
Only on the right visa. The VOA and B211A prohibit work, and enforcement is active in 2026 — Canggu and Seminyak are patrol hotspots. Russian remote workers earning USD 60,000+/year need the Digital Nomad Visa E33G. Read the 2026 rules →.

Q5: Why do so many Russians choose long-stay visas in Bali?
Bali has a large, established Russian community centred on Canggu, with Russian-run cafés, schools and services. Many residents work remotely or run businesses, so they move from the VOA to a Digital Nomad E33G, Investor KITAS or Second Home Visa for legal long-term residence.

“My Russian card wouldn’t pay on the visa website, and I was already in Bali on a community recommendation. Juara Holding Group paid the eVOA fee for me, then sorted my E33G so I could keep working from Canggu — all explained clearly in dollars.” — Elena M., Canggu (from Moscow), Russia ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
