Do Indians Need a Visa for Bali in 2026?

Yes — Indian passport-holders need a visa for Bali, but it is one of the easiest tourist visas available and India is one of Bali’s fastest-growing source markets. Indian citizens are on the Visa on Arrival (VOA) list. For a holiday you do not need to visit the Indonesian Embassy in New Delhi or a consulate in Mumbai or Chennai. You either buy the VOA when you land at Ngurah Rai Airport or — the smoother, recommended route — apply for the eVOA online before flying from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad or Kolkata.

The VOA gives you 30 days from arrival and can be extended once for another 30 days — up to 60 days in Bali. For the typical Indian trip — a honeymoon, a family holiday, a friends’ group trip, or a destination-wedding visit — the VOA or eVOA covers everything.

If you plan to stay beyond 60 days — for remote work, business, or a long stay — you will need a longer visa arranged in advance, covered below.

How Indians Apply for the eVOA — Step by Step

We recommend Indian travellers apply for the eVOA online before departure — it avoids the on-arrival queue and any document surprise:

  1. Use the official portal only — evisa.imigrasi.go.id. This is the single official Indonesian eVOA website; many fake “Bali visa for Indians” sites exist, so check the URL carefully. Apply 90 days to 48 hours before departure.
  2. Register and select “Visa on Arrival (B1)”, choosing India as your nationality.
  3. Upload your documents in the correct format — the bio page of your Indian passport (valid 6+ months beyond arrival, with a blank page) and a recent passport-style photo. Files must meet the portal’s size and format rules (JPEG/PDF, clear, full-page); blurred or cropped scans are the most common reason Indian applications are rejected.
  4. Pay IDR 500,000 by Visa, Mastercard or JCB. Your Indian card is charged the INR equivalent (about ₹2,950); note that some Indian banks block international online payments by default, so enable international/online use first or use a card that supports it.
  5. Receive your eVOA PDF by email — print it and keep a phone copy. Up to five applicants per session is ideal for families and groups.
  6. On arrival, use the eVOA lane, complete the All Indonesia Arrival Card, and pay the tourist levy.

If the card-payment or document-format steps are a hassle, our team prepares and submits the eVOA for you, in the correct formats, so it isn’t rejected. Message us.

Best Long-Stay Visa for Indians

Indian long-stayers in Bali are increasingly remote professionals and entrepreneurs/investors, so the long-stay choice usually comes down to:

  • Working remotely for an overseas employer? The Digital Nomad Visa E33G gives one year if you earn USD 60,000+/year and hold an overseas employment contract. It is not renewable — you exit and re-apply to continue.
  • Investing in or running a business in Indonesia? Many Indian entrepreneurs set up a PT PMA foreign-owned company and obtain an Investor KITAS E28A as Director or Commissioner — a popular route given Bali’s strong India-facing tourism and hospitality scene.
  • Settling for years at any age, or buying property? The Second Home Visa E33 requires an IDR 2 billion (~INR 16.9 million) deposit in a state bank within 90 days of arrival, or qualifying property — no employment requirement, no upper age limit.

Some Indians begin on a B211A and then convert to a KITAS onshore. We will explain the cheapest legal route, with figures in rupees.

Indian Passport — What You Need at Ngurah Rai Airport

Arriving in Bali on an Indian passport, you should have:

  • Passport validity: at least 6 months beyond arrival, with a blank page.
  • Your visa: VOA on arrival or, better, a pre-approved eVOA.
  • All Indonesia Arrival Card (AIDC): free, completed at allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id within 3 days before arrival.
  • Bali Tourist Levy: IDR 150,000 (~INR 885) per person.
  • Confirmed return/onward ticket and accommodation booking — Indian passengers are more frequently asked to show these, so have them printed.
  • Proof of funds: be ready to evidence around USD 2,000 (~INR 169,000) and roughly three months of bank statements.

Immigration may scrutinise Indian arrivals slightly more closely on return tickets and funds, so completeness matters. The authoritative source is Indonesian immigration at imigrasi.go.id — follow the Indonesian rule over third-party advice.

FAQ — Bali Visa for Indians

Q1: Can I use my Indian debit/credit card for the eVOA?
Usually yes — evisa.imigrasi.go.id accepts Visa, Mastercard and JCB. The catch is that many Indian banks block international online transactions by default, so enable international/e-commerce use on your card first, or use a card that supports overseas payments. The charge is the INR equivalent of IDR 500,000 (about ₹2,950). If payment keeps failing, we can submit on your behalf.

Q2: What document format does the Bali eVOA need for Indian applicants?
A clear, full-page colour scan of your passport bio page and a passport-style photo, in the portal’s accepted file type (typically JPEG or PDF) within its size limit. Blurred, cropped or dark scans are the top reason Indian eVOA applications are rejected — so scan, don’t photograph at an angle.

Q3: Is Bali visa-free for Indian citizens in 2026?
No. Indians are not on the visa-free list, but they are VOA-eligible: IDR 500,000 (~₹2,950) for 30 days, extendable once to 60. There’s no need to visit an Indonesian consulate in India for a normal holiday.

Q4: How long can Indian citizens stay in Bali?
On the VOA/eVOA, up to 60 days (30 + one 30-day extension). For longer, use a B211A, a KITAS (1–2 years), or the Second Home Visa (5–10 years).

Q5: Do Indian travellers need to show a return ticket and funds at Bali airport?
Often, yes. Indian passport-holders are among the nationalities more frequently asked for a confirmed return/onward ticket and proof of funds (around USD 2,000 / ~₹169,000). Carry printed copies of your tickets, hotel bookings and a recent bank statement to avoid delays.
