VOA Extension Bali 2026 — Done-For-You in 5 Days
A Bali Visa on Arrival extension adds 30 more days to your stay, taking a VOA or eVOA from 30 up to a maximum of 60 days. It can be used once only, now requires one in-person biometric visit to a Bali immigration office, and is usually completed in about 5 working days. Bali Visa Trusted files it for you end-to-end.
Already close to your 30th day and want it handled without the queues? Message a licensed consultant on WhatsApp for a same-day VOA extension quote — an official Bali visa agent since 2015, operated by Bali Premium Trip under Juara Holding Group.
VOA extension at a glance: the key numbers
The Visa on Arrival extension is one of the simplest immigration procedures in Bali — on paper. Every number below is fixed by regulation, not by us, and the whole procedure hinges on getting the timing right.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Applies to | VOA (stamp on arrival) and eVOA (applied online) |
| Extra stay granted | 30 days |
| Maximum total stay | 60 days (30 initial + 30 extension) |
| Number of extensions | Once only |
| Official government extension fee | IDR 500,000 |
| Biometrics | One in-person appointment at a Bali immigration office (since May 2025) |
| Processing time | Around 5 working days |
| Overstay penalty if you miss it | IDR 1,000,000 per day |
Who qualifies for a VOA or eVOA extension
If you entered Indonesia on a Visa on Arrival or its online twin the eVOA, you can extend once. Both give you 30 days on entry and both stretch to a single 30-day extension — no more. That is the ceiling written into the visa itself.
You do not qualify if you have already extended this VOA, if you are on a different visa class (a C1 visit visa, a KITAS, or a multiple-entry D-visa all follow different rules), or if your nationality received a stamp under a bilateral visa-free arrangement rather than a paid VOA. If you need more than 60 total days in Bali, the extension is a dead end — you should be looking at a longer visa or a status change instead, and we will tell you so honestly rather than sell you a second extension that does not exist.
One practical trap: a VOA generally cannot be converted to a KITAS onshore. If your plans have shifted from “a long holiday” to “living here”, extending the VOA buys you time but not a pathway. Flag that to us early and we sequence the right visa before your 60 days run out.
How the VOA extension works: with an agent vs doing it yourself
The extension is not difficult — it is unforgiving. Miss the biometric appointment, submit a photo the system rejects, or file too close to your expiry date, and a routine formality becomes an overstay conversation. Here is the honest side-by-side.
| Step | Doing it yourself | With Bali Visa Trusted |
|---|---|---|
| Start the file | Register and upload documents on the immigration portal; interpret Indonesian-language prompts | Send us a passport scan and your VOA details over WhatsApp; we open the file the same day |
| Document check | Guess whether your photo, passport validity and dates pass | We pre-check everything against current requirements before submission |
| Government fee | Pay IDR 500,000 yourself, hope the payment clears | Included in one all-in USD price, paid on your behalf |
| Biometric appointment | Book your own slot, attend, wait — often several office visits | We book the earliest slot; you make one short visit for photo and fingerprints |
| Collection | Return to collect your passport and extension | We track approval and return your passport promptly |
What a legitimate agency adds is not secret access or a faster government clock — it is error-proofing and a dedicated case manager who acts on portal queries the day they land. What no honest agent will ever promise is guaranteed approval or “skipping” biometrics. Anyone offering either is telling you something important about themselves. VOA extension pricing 2026 (USD, all-in)
Our fees are premium and transparent. Each price is a single all-in figure that already includes the IDR 500,000 government extension fee, your document review, official-portal filing, appointment booking and passport handling — quoted in writing before you pay a rupiah. Government rules and BVT service prices on this page were verified July 2026.
| Tier | All-in service fee (USD) | Processing | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard VOA Extension (+30 days) | $119 | Around 5 working days | You still have a week or more before your VOA expires |
| Express / priority (+30 days) | $155 | Prioritised handling and earliest available appointment | You are close to expiry and need it moved to the front of the queue |
The express tier is simply the standard fee plus our 30% priority surcharge; it buys faster human handling and appointment scheduling, not a change to the government’s processing time, which no agent controls. You can see how this sits against every other route on our full USD pricing page. We are not the cheapest visa agent in Bali — we are the one that treats your passport and your legal status as the priority they are.
Your biometrics appointment: what actually happens
Since May 2025, every visa extension in Bali — the VOA included — requires the holder to attend an immigration office in person for a photo and fingerprint capture. This cannot be done remotely or by proxy, so it is the one part of the process only you can complete.
In practice it is quick when it is organised. We book your slot at the immigration office serving your area, tell you exactly what to bring (passport and the confirmation we provide), and brief you on what to expect. You attend, sit for the photo and fingerprints, and leave; we handle the paperwork around that single visit. Travellers who go it alone frequently end up making multiple trips because a document was missing or the slot lapsed — the appointment is where DIY extensions most often unravel. Our how to extend a Bali visa guide walks through the full sequence step by step.
Deadlines, timing and the overstay warning
The single most important rule: apply before your VOA expires, not on the day it does. Immigration expects extension files to be lodged with a comfortable margin — we recommend starting at least 7 to 10 days before your 30th day so there is room for the biometric appointment and any document query.
Leave it too late and you risk overstaying, which in Indonesia carries a fine of IDR 1,000,000 per day, and — beyond 60 days of overstay — far more serious consequences including detention, deportation and a re-entry ban. If you are already at or past your expiry date, do not simply try to “sort it at the airport”. Contact us immediately about emergency and overstay help, or read the full picture in our Bali overstay guide. The extension window is generous when you respect it and merciless when you don’t.
FAQ
How many times can I extend a Bali Visa on Arrival?
Once. A VOA or eVOA gives you 30 days on entry and can be extended a single time for another 30 days, for a maximum stay of 60 days. There is no second VOA extension. If you need longer, you must leave and re-enter or move to a different visa such as a C1 visit visa or a KITAS.
How much does a VOA extension cost in Bali?
The official government extension fee is IDR 500,000. Bali Visa Trusted’s all-in done-for-you service starts at USD 119 standard, which already includes that government fee, our document review, official filing and appointment booking. Express priority handling is USD 155. Every quote is confirmed in writing before you pay.
Can I extend my VOA online without going to immigration?
No. Since May 2025 the extension requires one in-person biometric appointment at a Bali immigration office for your photo and fingerprints, and that step cannot be done remotely. We handle everything around it — filing, payment and scheduling — so your only physical task is a single short office visit.
How early should I start my VOA extension?
Start at least 7 to 10 days before your VOA expires. That margin covers the roughly 5 working days of processing plus the biometric appointment, so you are never racing your expiry date. Last-minute files are the main cause of overstay stress, and overstaying costs IDR 1,000,000 per day.
Can I convert my VOA to a KITAS instead of extending it?
Generally no — a Visa on Arrival cannot be converted to a KITAS onshore, unlike a C1 visit visa. Extending buys you up to 60 days total but is not a residency pathway. If you have decided to stay long term, tell us early and we will arrange the correct visa before your VOA runs out.
Ready to extend? Send us your VOA details on WhatsApp and a licensed consultant will confirm your all-in price and start the file today. Not sure the extension is the right move for your dates? Bali Visa Trusted files only through the official immigration portals, and has done since 2015.
