The E33G in Brief

Live in Bali, keep your overseas income

The E33G Digital Nomad KITAS is a one-year Indonesian residence permit for foreigners working remotely for a company based outside Indonesia. It is designed for remote employees and contractors who wish to live in Bali while their salary continues to come from abroad.

To qualify you must show USD 60,000 a year in income, an overseas employment contract, a USD 2,000 bank balance and valid health insurance. The permit is not renewable — when the year ends you simply re-apply to continue your stay.

Understanding the E33G

What the Digital Nomad KITAS means for you

§ 01

Who qualifies

The E33G is for remote employees and contractors paid by a non-Indonesian company. You will need to evidence income of at least USD 60,000 a year, hold an overseas employment or service contract, and keep a minimum USD 2,000 in the bank. Your work and your salary must originate entirely outside Indonesia.

§ 02

Why it matters in 2026

Working remotely while on a tourist visa is illegal in Indonesia, and enforcement by the Dharma Dewata immigration task force in Bali has become routine. The E33G is the compliant, purpose-built route — it gives you a lawful basis to live and work remotely on the island without risking fines, detention or deportation.

§ 03

What it allows

With the E33G you may live in Bali for a full year, open a local Indonesian bank account, and travel in and out on a multiple-entry basis with a re-entry permit. It does not permit local Indonesian employment — your income must remain with your overseas company throughout the permit.
