New for 2026: the All Indonesia Arrival Card is mandatory. Complete it before you fly. How to complete it

Stay longer, legally

Extend Without Leaving the Country

Most Indonesian visas extend in country. Since May 2025 each one needs a single in-person biometric visit. We do everything around that visit.

Biometric rule and fees verified against imigrasi.go.id and molina.imigrasi.go.id. Current for 2026.

Can I extend my Bali visa?

Yes, and doing it on time is the single best way to avoid the expensive trap of overstaying. What you can extend depends on what you are holding.

One rule changed everything. Since May 2025 you cannot extend most visas entirely online: you must attend a Bali immigration office in person for a photograph and fingerprints. It caught a lot of residents off guard.

VOA holders start here
VOA and eVOA
Once, for thirty days, to a sixty day ceiling.
B211A and C1
More than once. The limit is set by immigration.
KITAS
Renewed annually, until you qualify for a KITAP.
E33G nomad visa
Not renewable. You re-apply rather than extend.

Who needs one

Anyone whose permit is approaching expiry and who would rather not pay for an exit and re-entry trip.

Traveller holding a passport at the immigration counters in Bali airport

VOA and eVOA holders

Staying past the initial thirty days, up to sixty.

Traveller checking documents on a street beside a Balinese temple gate

B211A holders

Continuing beyond the current sixty day period.

Man reviewing paperwork at a desk as the sun sets over Bali

KITAS holders

Approaching the annual renewal date.

Family arriving at a Bali villa at sunset with their suitcases

Long-stay residents

Keeping an in-country permit current and compliant.

Extension rules by visa type

Each permit has its own rules. These are the cases we handle most.

VOA and eVOA
Once only, plus thirty days, sixty day ceiling
B211A / C1 visit visa
More than once, plus thirty days each, limit set by immigration
Working KITAS (E23)
Annual renewal for the life of the permit
Investor KITAS (E28A)
One to two years, renewed against the permit validity
Retirement KITAS (E33F)
Annual renewal
Family and Spouse KITAS
E31 and E31A, annual renewal
Digital Nomad (E33G)
Not renewable. One year, then you re-apply
Every type, since May 2025
One in-person biometric appointment

The B211A extension count is the figure most disputed online. We confirm the current limit for your case with immigration rather than repeating a number from a forum post.

What it costs

All in, government fees included. KITAS renewals vary by type and are quoted in writing.

  • VOA or eVOA extension Official IDR 500,000 fee included From USD 119
  • B211A / C1 extension In-person biometric handled From USD 219
  • KITAS renewal Quoted per type, in writing On request
  • Overstay, per day What leaving it too late costs IDR 1,000,000

The government fee is set by immigration and is inside our price, not added to it. What you buy is a checked file, a booked appointment, and somebody who answers portal queries the day they arrive.

How it goes

Five steps, and only the fourth needs you in the room.

  1. 01

    Tell us what you hold

A passport scan and your current visa or permit. We confirm what can be extended and for how long.

  2. 02

    Documents prepared

A checklist for your permit type, reviewed against current requirements before submission.

  3. 03

    Filed on the portal

Lodged through the official system at molina.imigrasi.go.id, with the government fee paid on your behalf.

  4. 04

    One biometric visit

We book the slot at the office serving your address and tell you exactly what to bring.

  5. 05

    Permit returned

We track the approval and return your passport with the extension in it.

The rule that changed everything

Since May 2025, extensions are no longer a fully online procedure.

You must attend in person

A photograph and fingerprints at a Bali immigration office. Not remotely, not by proxy, not by an agent on your behalf. You need to be in Indonesia for it.

VOA extension service

Appointments have to be booked

Immigration offices get busy, which is the practical reason to start at least a week before expiry rather than on the day.

How to extend

Overstay costs IDR 1,000,000 a day

And past sixty days it stops being a fine and becomes detention, deportation and a re-entry ban. If you are already at expiry, do not wait.
