There are three, each a Kantor Imigrasi (Kanim) under the Directorate General of Immigration, and each with its own working area. An honest caveat before the details: immigration does not publish a public, street-by-street map of which office owns which neighbourhood. In practice your office is set by the residential address on your file — your sponsor letter, your stay-permit address, or the address you give during the application. When the boundary is unclear, the office (or your agent) confirms it. Do not assume; verify.
Kanim Denpasar: central and city Bali
Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I TPI Denpasar sits at Jalan D.I. Panjaitan No. 3, Renon (Sumerta Kelod), Denpasar Timur — the Niti Mandala government complex. It is the office most long-stay residents of Denpasar, and a large share of Badung and Gianyar, use for stay-permit business: visit-visa extensions, KITAS collection, and status changes.
Standard service hours follow the national pattern published by the Denpasar office: Monday to Thursday 08:00–16:00 WITA with a midday break around 12:00–13:00, and Friday 08:30–16:30 WITA. Foreigner services — the counters where your photo and fingerprints are taken — fill up early, so arriving at opening is worth the alarm. Kanim Ngurah Rai: the airport office for the south
Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I TPI Ngurah Rai is at Jalan Raya Taman Jimbaran No. 1, Jimbaran, Kuta Selatan (Badung), a few minutes from the international terminal. It plays two roles that travellers constantly confuse. Second, it operates a full stay-permit service, and handles a large volume of tourist extensions for people staying across the south: Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Canggu, Nusa Dua and Uluwatu.
The office’s foreigner photo service (Layanan Foto Asing) runs on queue numbers that must be taken by 11:00 WITA — miss that window and you are sent home to return another day. Kanim Singaraja: the only office for North Bali
Kantor Imigrasi Kelas II TPI Singaraja serves Buleleng regency and the north — Lovina, Singaraja and, in practice, a spread of northern and eastern areas that are simply too far from Denpasar to be convenient. It is a Class II office in the city of Singaraja; because it is comparatively quiet, residents of the north can often complete a biometric appointment with far shorter queues than the southern offices see.
If you live in Lovina or the far north, do not drive three hours to Denpasar out of habit — confirm with the office (or your agent) whether Singaraja is your correct Kanim first. The exact street address is best confirmed directly with the office before you set out, as it is not always listed on the central directory.
Which office handles your extension, KITAS or conversion
Every in-country visa step that needs biometrics is tied to one of these three offices. The service is the same everywhere — the difference is jurisdiction and queue length.

What to bring — and the queue reality
For a biometric appointment, immigration expects your original passport, the application or extension reference, your sponsor or guarantor documents where required, and payment of the official government fee (for context, the Visa on Arrival itself carries an IDR 500,000 fee; extension and KITAS fees differ by type and are paid to immigration directly). Dress neatly — you are being photographed for an official record — and bring the exact documents on your checklist, because a single missing letter can cost you the whole trip to the office.
The reality is that the southern offices are busy. Peak season stretches queues, foreigner-photo numbers run out before midday, and a “quick” extension can swallow a full morning or force a second visit. The consequences of getting the timing wrong are not trivial: overstaying your permit is fined at IDR 1,000,000 per day, so the appointment is not something to leave until your last legal day.
