An Indonesian residence permit for the spouses and dependants of Indonesian citizens and existing KITAS or KITAP holders. All-in from USD 990 — the compliant, fully-managed route to living in Bali alongside your family.
The Family & Spouse KITAS (E31) is for the spouses and dependants of Indonesian citizens or of existing KITAS or KITAP holders. It lets you live in Bali long-term, joined to your family sponsor, rather than relying on short-stay tourist visas.
The permit is renewable, and for a foreigner married to an Indonesian citizen a spouse KITAS can, in time, lead to a KITAP permanent stay permit — a settled, lawful basis for making Indonesia your home.
The E31 is built for family reunification. It is the right permit for foreign spouses of Indonesian citizens, for dependant children, and for the family members of foreigners who already hold a KITAS or KITAP. If your reason for living in Bali is family rather than work or study, this is your route.
A Family KITAS is always sponsored. Your Indonesian spouse, or a resident sponsor who holds a KITAS or KITAP, supports the application and takes on the formal sponsorship role. We coordinate directly with your sponsor to gather their documents and keep the process moving smoothly.
A spouse KITAS holder married to an Indonesian citizen may be permitted to work under specific conditions. The rules are nuanced and depend on your circumstances, so we advise on what is and is not allowed before you rely on any right to work.
Your all-in fee from USD 990 covers the full Family / Spouse KITAS application and the government fee. The documents below are what you and your sponsor provide to support the application.
The essentials on sponsorship, eligibility and the path towards permanent residency.
A Family KITAS must be sponsored by an Indonesian citizen or by a foreigner who already holds a KITAS or KITAP. In practice this is usually your Indonesian spouse, or a resident family member who supports the application. Your sponsor provides their identity documents and takes on the formal sponsorship role — we coordinate with them throughout.
Yes. For a foreigner married to an Indonesian citizen, a spouse KITAS can, over time, lead to a KITAP permanent stay permit. The KITAS is renewable in the meantime, and we can advise on the timeline and requirements for progressing from KITAS to KITAP as your residency matures.
Tell us about your sponsor and family situation on WhatsApp and we’ll confirm your eligibility and next steps — all-in from USD 990.
